Use Cloud Based Computing to Fully Facilitate Remote Working

Cloud computing comes with a whole retinue of enticing benefits, including the ability to upload or share a document that can then be accessed from any other point in the world without delay. As you might imagine, the rise in cloud computing has coincided with a rise in remote work, with many employees eschewing the office in favour of putting in hours at home.

That isn’t just convenient for your employees – it also reduces your own costs. Thanks to the latest platforms and programs, you can track and monitor work from your own device even more easily than you could check over someone’s shoulder in the real world.

Of course, you’ll need to know how to make the most out of your new arrangement.

Boost communication

Sending emails back and forth can become tiresome, especially when you’re dealing with a larger group. Luckily enough, plenty of cloud-based apps provide a virtual office environment, essentially creating mini chat rooms for select groups. Most will archive conversations in case anything needs to be looked up later. Slack is an excellent example.

Ensure smooth management

You need everyone doing what they need to do when they need to do it, which means delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and streamlining your process. Cloud-based project management tools let you assign work, create virtual teams, and monitor deadlines. Basecamp is a strong contender.

Prioritise backups

Automatic backups are a popular benefit of the cloud, but you ideally need to be able to store documents on multiple computers and access all of them from a single dashboard to ensure that all employees are fully backed up. Try Cloud File Sync or IBackupfor solutions to this.

Make storage safer

Backing up your data and storing it are related, but they are not one and the same. Storage options should offer effective security as well as access for multiple team members. Google Drive and Dropbox are fine for most businesses, but you might think about SpiderOak and TeamDrive – both encrypt files to ensure protection. You should also look for synchronisation services, which ensure the same up-to-date version of a file is available across all devices.
